Get min/max resolutions for WMTS layers

Would it be possible to get min/max resolutions for a WMTS layer written in the cfg?
When a WMTS layers is added to QGIS, a getCapabilities request is made which gets those values.
Is it possible:

• to copy those values from the getCapabilities
• or if not possible, to make a getCapabilities request?
