Opening up the Kicad Template files requires me to convert them into the current fileformat used by Kicad and also makes it necessary for for other Users to use that exact or more recent version of Kicad used to open these Files. Thus require users to potentially setup the newer version of kicad which is a disadvantage. How should we handle the Template file for Kicad? Create a Legacy folder and use the most recent Stable Kicad Version to convert the files? And also point out that the project files only should be opened with a stable release of kicad to avoid this behavior? And if a nightly or beta release is used to create new files to specify the used version ?
