ABI based on interface guards, patterns

I just added this comment in a contract I'm working on, where Proposal Shapes are coming in really handy, as usual:

I've seen form-based interfaces to interact with EVM contracts based on their "ABI". (Is hardhat the tool?)

Here's hoping we establish norms for using patterns and interface guards to enable similar tools.
