Loaded before Elpaca activation

I'm currently trying to set up a config with Elpaca and am hitting a road block with Treemacs. Copying the use-package block from the Readme's installation part returns two errors:

Warning (emacs): treemacs loaded before Elpaca activation
Error (use-package): treemacs/:config: Symbol’s value as variable is void: treemacs-python-executable

Some searching shows i can get around the first warning by setting :ensure (:wait t), but i didn't have to do this on my old config, so not sure why that's needed now.

The second Error seems to indicate, that the use-packages :config block runs before treemacs is available. Again, not sure why this would be the case. My entire config, apart from some functions and my modeline format is in use-package statements. So there isn't too much that's running outside of that.

I use neither elpaca nor use-package myself, so I cannot provide much insight in what's going on.

I did try setting up a base config with nothing but the elpaca bootstrap and the treemacs use-package block (using the :ensure (:wait t) part) and didn't have any problems. Your issue is likely a side-effect of something else. All in all there is nothing special about treemacs, it's just a package like any other. I suggest removing other parts of your config and the treemacs use-package declaration to see if the cause is somewhere in there.
