[FEATURE] newlines in chat messages

It is sometimes desirable to align text vertically

Consider these 2 representations:

I like:
* cats
* dogs
* parrots

I like:
* cats
* dogs
* parrots

The 1st one looks better structured, the only missing feature to achieve this is a newline

Trimming leading and trailing newlines would be a nice complementing feature, e.g.:

accidental
leading and/or trailing newline

accidental
leading and/or trailing newline trimmed
