Where do i download the firmware packages? #534
Comments
I have the same confusion. The official documentation mentions "Heimdall Firmware Packages" but I have no clue what that is. Another issue here hints that they might just be official firmware images obtained with other methods but I'd like a clarification. Thank you |
Update I figured out how to package images into a Heimdall Firmware Package manually using the guide. However the guide mentions Heimdall Firmware Packages in a way that implies there exists a public directory of them for popular devices and instructs users to request packages from maintainers if they don't exist for their devices. I would appreciate if someone linked me to anything like that, I couldn't find any myself. |
Okay yes, that was my issue. I thought because of the wording that there were downloadable firmware packages somewhere. |
@hoods-py i mean, the wording clearly does strongly suggest that. and i think that something like that exists, yet we find no other clues... |
welcome to the android world, where nothing make sense |
You can usually find your devices firmware on sites like SamFW, etc. They have a huge selection of every device and carrier |
