DOTE v1.0.3 minor update

This release is a minor update with some bug fixes and some new features. The release is the complete software required for any Edition. The free Edition has some restrictions. Purchasing the DOTE Pro or DOTE Pro Community license will unlock the premium features. See our webshop for more details.

• To install for the first time, download DOTE for your operating system and follow the installation instructions.
• To update your current version of DOTE, download the latest version and install as if for the first time. DOTE will be updated, keeping all your settings and options.

You can download the release version appropriate for your computer operating system below:

• DOTE-osx-x64-1.0.3.dmg -- for macOS Intel x64
• DOTE-osx-arm64-1.0.3.dmg -- for macOS Apple Silicon M-series

We have also created a demo project that you can download and import into DOTE. This is the same release as for v1.0.0.

New Features

• User-defineable timing of jump forward/backward for audiovisual playback in Settings (eg. defaults are 1 sec or 4 sec).
• User-defineable frame-rate (fps) for audiovisual playback in Settings to enable accurate frame advance (eg. default is 30 fps).
• Simple speed control for slow or fast playback (0.25x, 0.5x, 0.75x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x).
  • A better and more functional UI will be implemented in a later full release.
• While updating DOTE, FFmpeg will automatically be downloaded again if and only if you had already done so with the older version of DOTE (see Settings).
  • If FFmpeg is installed by DOTE, it can be manually removed (in Settings).

Bugs Squashed

• Fixed video panel blanks occasionally on UI refresh, esp. secondary video panel.
• Fixed project corrupted or blank after creating new project in special circumstances.
• Fixed Git error after macOS update.

Known Issues

• Some complex neighbourhoods in a transcript using Mondadaian conventions are not realigned correctly.
• False positive errors reported with some complex neighbourhoods in a transcript using Mondadaian conventions.
