[BUG] Selecting text and triggering TTS doesn't work

Bug Description
Select an answer and click the hotkey for TTS, it will pop up the TTS window for a split second and close it immediately, no speech comes out.

If I paste the last response into the edit box, and do the same operation, TTS works.

If you fix this bug please consider better TTS integration: allowing the users to select a voice and speech rate in options and put a speech button, or even allow auto-spoken responses as soon as they start coming out.

Steps to Reproduce
Select the text in a response, hist Option-Esc for TTS
