It's a tough balance between being beginner-friendly and introducing too much detail. However, there are a couple things related to mounting media that might be worth including even if they're already in "Tutorial: guidance for quantitative confocal microscopy".
Hardening leading to shrinkage / compression
Curing time for hardening mounting media
Sealing coverslips
A grand list of incompatibilities between fluorophores and mounting media (e.g. glycerol and lipophilic dyes, a Vectashield variant and AF647) located in the appendix? It's a big ask, but maybe with crowdsourcing, this can be done?
Do any of these sound reasonable? If so, I'm happy to suggest text.

I think 1-3 seem good, potentially, but maybe as something where they are margin or dropdown boxes, such that the user can expand the content if and when they want but otherwise it doesn't disrupt the overall flow. Does that sound reasonable?
