Are you sure you are using the 6.x version? Make sure your composer.json looks like: chatter-laravel/core: ^6.0

Last night I made a fresh installation of Laravel Framework 6.18.13.

composer.zip

Could this have been yesterday's modification of composer.json 6.x?
from "laravel-frontend-presets / tailwindcss": "^ 2.2"
to "laravel-frontend-presets / tailwindcss": "^ 3.0"
