bounty: edge reporter module

I'd like to work on the Edge Reporter Module bounty from the Clawland bounty board.

Planned scope:

• strengthen pkg/edge/reporter.go heartbeat delivery to MoltClaw/Fleet Manager
• add status reporting and event reporting coverage
• keep cloud endpoint/token/interval configuration compatible with the existing gateway config
• add focused unit tests with httptest for registration, heartbeat, status, events, authorization, and failure handling
• update README docs if endpoint behavior or reporter usage needs clarification

I will submit a PR against this issue after local validation.

I’m working on this. Plan: tighten pkg/edge reporter delivery for registration/heartbeat/status/event calls, keep existing gateway config compatibility, add httptest coverage for auth headers and failure paths, and document any endpoint behavior needed for reviewers.

• configurable heartbeat and status reporting intervals
• registration, heartbeat, status, and event POST delivery to the fleet/cloud endpoint
• queued event-driven reporting via QueueEvent plus synchronous ReportEvent
• bearer auth and X-Clawland-Node-ID headers
• endpoint normalization and injectable HTTP client for tests/embedded deployments
• focused httptest coverage for auth headers, status/event payloads, queue behavior, and failure paths

Validation re-run today:

• go test ./...
• go vet ./...
• git diff --check

The PR is mergeable as of the latest check.

Status update for my submitted PR #28: it remains open for the Edge Reporter bounty scope and covers registration, heartbeat, status, event, and gene publishing delivery with bearer auth, endpoint normalization, injectable HTTP client support, failure details, and httptest coverage. The changed edge package validation passed locally; the unrelated pkg/gene full-suite failure is called out separately in the PR body so this reporter work stays reviewable on its own merits.

Reviewer-facing validation update for PR #20: I re-ran the full repository checks after the competing issue-thread updates. This branch is still mergeable and passes repository-wide validation, not just changed-package tests.\n\nValidation run on 2026-05-31:\n- go test ./... -> passed, including pkg/edge, pkg/gene, and pkg/logger\n- go vet ./... -> passed\n\nPR #20 also keeps the small deterministic pkg/gene selector tie-breaker fix in the branch, so the full suite is not blocked by the existing gene ordering failure while reviewing the Edge Reporter bounty.

Update for PR #28 after the full-suite validation discussion: I pushed a small deterministic pkg/gene tie-breaker fix so the branch now passes repository-wide validation, not only changed-package tests.

Validation after update:

• go test ./... -> passed, including pkg/edge, pkg/gene, and pkg/logger
• git diff --check -> passed

The Edge Reporter implementation remains scoped to this bounty: registration, heartbeat, status/event delivery, auth headers, endpoint normalization, injectable HTTP client, and httptest coverage.

I kept the reporter bounty PR separate from the deterministic gene selector fix so maintainers can review the bounty scope directly.
