MVVM Messenger with Blazor WASM

I am curious to know if the MVVM Messenger within this toolkit can work out of the box in the browser under Blazor web assembly app? and if not fully supported, what are the limitations here?

Hi @JawadJaber, we've had a couple of folks in the community integrate the library into their Blazor based projects. Maybe @SimonGeering has an update on how it's gone, see their post and link to project from this other discussion here.

I know one main thing is that Blazor doesn't have support for things like ICommand on buttons, so that makes it a bit more challenging. It has seemed like we would need someone in the Blazor community to champion taking on adding more direct MVVM support into Blazor itself; I'm not familiar enough with Blazor to know if there's extensions or an ability to build a POC for better integration without modifying Blazor itself.

I'm not aware of any issues with the messenger types on Blazor MVVM, those should work just fine as far as I know. Michael called out some limitations with Blazor to support other MVVM primitives like commands, but that's a separate topics. Both WeakReferenceMessenger and StrongReferenceMessenger should work perfectly fine on their own 🙂

Thanks Sergio! I had missed the call out to the Messenger stuff. 🙈 I know I've even used that in Unity (outside of dealing with NuGet/packaging to get into project with their ecosystem) the code itself worked amazing! 🎉
