CommunityToolkit.WinUI.UI.Controls.DataGrid weird column padding

Hi, I am using the following control:

<controls:DataGrid x:Name="dataGrid" Grid.Column="0" IsReadOnly="true" Grid.Row="19" Height="500" Width="1000" Grid.ColumnSpan="10" RowHeight="50" Grid.RowSpan="8" Margin="0" MinColumnWidth="5" MaxColumnWidth="50" Padding="0" CanUserResizeColumns="false" CanUserSortColumns="False" CanUserReorderColumns="False" ItemsSource="{x:Bind Dbscripts}">
        </controls:DataGrid>

and I am having this strange result:

How can I remove all this fluff padding? I need to set the MaxColumnWidth at up to 100 to see all the text and that is too wide for my liking. I would like the tightest fit possible for it.

I am using WINUI 3 Unpackaged app with nuget package CommunityToolkit.WinUI.UI.Controls.DataGrid

Appreciate any pointers.
