Wanna ask about shortcut Escape to Close Chat on Official Client

Hey, i just want to ask, there is a shortcut on official client WA desktop "Escape" to Close chat. I have tried this shortcut with unofficial client on Linux 2 years ago. But why this shortcut not working on windows (official client tho). Nothing happen if i press escape button. Is there any way or trick maybe to make it work?
