It could be great if the end-user could verify that the application does not send any data. To create a tutorial that would show, how could normal users achieve such a thing.
If I understand the protocol correctly, the application can send data only when the user has deliberately chosen to send them.
It could provide trust even with those individuals who are extremely distrustful.
It could also encourage users to distrust other applications (because many applications should not be trusted).
