Error messages not showing correctly

Hello, I'm trying to notify the user who logs in with error messages, so I'm not having success, I did the step by step as described in the tutorial described in this link https://ldaprecord.com/docs/laravel/v2/auth/database/laravel-breeze/#displaying-ldap-error-messages however without success I only receive the message that has already been pre-defined any other error I do not receive, how do I proceed?

Can you dd() the $message and $code arguments inside of the handleLdapBindError() method and see if anything is displayed when you login? Ex:

protected function handleLdapBindError($message, $code = null)

    dd($message, $code);
}

If you see a message and code, please post it here 👍

Also, can you confirm if LDAP authentication in general is working for you? Can you login successfully into your application with your LDAP user account?

1. yes I connect my users normally and fallback also works
2. only the standard ldap error messages that are not shown it only shows the message that is inserted inside the ValidationException::withMessages method it always overlays other messages
3. if I enter an incorrect host it goes through the handleLdapBindError but if the host is correct and the error is a password for example it just brings me the message of ValidationException::withMessages that is in the authenticate() function of the loginRequest class

This is intended. If you take a look at the method below that calls your handleLdapBindError() method, it will only be called if connecting to your server fails or if a non-standard authentication exception occurs:

This means when a user attempts to login to your application with an invalid password, they will see the standard "Username or password is incorrect" Laravel validation exception. However, if the user has an expired password in ActiveDirectory, then your handleLdapBindError() method will be called.

Can you try logging in with an ActiveDirectory user that either has an expired password or an account to see if your handleLdapBindError() method is called?

Got it, I didn't understand the logic behind the answers, but I tested here user expired and it worked the message was given as it is to be. thanks.
