Exact MONDO/HP mappings not in EFO can be directly imported without curation (see meeting notes), but currently the automation and curation spreadsheet don't support this well (or at all).

  • Spreadsheet preparation should directly query OLS to get matching terms in MONDO/HP so curators do not have to look them up individually. Zooma might do this sometimes but can't be relied on, OLS is a more certain method.
  • These should be distinguished in some way to be agreed, some possibilities:
    1. Included among the other mappings but highlighted in a different color
    2. Included in a different column, e.g. Suggested import term
    3. Removed from manual curation altogether and placed in a new "automated import" table. (Note this removes curator discretion for doing another mapping, even temporarily.)

Also note this is probably not applicable to non-EFO ontologies.
