CSV is a suitable option for downloading results from the Download data domain--however CSV requires the users to select parameters when opening in a spreadsheet (Libre Office Calc is more friendly than some of the versions of Excel for this) however XLS is also an accepted standard and doesn't require setting parameters-- CSV will not be a problem for experienced users but it will be an additional frustration for inexperience users.
