Hi

Currently the projects doesn't provide instructions on how to install OpenAM. It asks for it to be installed on a specific version. There is a maintained OpenAM fork from the Open Identity Platform. It has a lot more activity than the community version from ForgeRock and it's free-software. Maybe you could declare that version as the official one and provide help on the installation from the autoinstall and docs. The community version of ForgeRock has a single contributor and it is really difficult to install.

@CoachEd can you please update documentation for use OpenAm 14

we had a lot of troubles installing openAm 13 and we installed an openDJ version (4.4.3) that was not compatible (we couldn't create groups), so we tried with openAm 14 using docker (was more easier) but they changed some functionalities :(

For now, we are trying to rollback to openAm 13 and installing an older version of openDJ (3.0.0) but they are deprecated :(

We are planning to release a new version soon that will simplify OpenAM installation, configuration, and deployment. Stay tuned!

Cool! If I could give some feedback on our experience trying to setup OpenAM.

  • OpenDj, OpenAM and Asterisk have dockers available on their repos, the setup could be based on docker compose and setup all the projects on a single install (with good defaults or at least workable).
  • The sql schema on dat/acedirectdefault.sql has error relating datetimewith timestamp. I manually changed the schema until sql accepted it, but I have no idea if that was the intent.

Thanks for your time!
