I think doing something as the title suggests would give EFM datapack creators more creative freedom.
Lets say I'm making a weapon type that is basically a longsword that you can use a shield with (for example bastard swords) while also having that weapon type being a fencer's weapon art from battle arts. To my knowledge you can do the long sword and shield thing, but not the fencer art currently.
Another example i will share will be adding compat between dual axes and battle arts, having the dual axes skill lets you dual the axes while also being able to use the journyman battle style via datapack.
