{{meta Description}} helper without trailing slash

Hi! W3C markup validation is asking me to remove trailing slashes on my page. Please tell me if there is a way to rewrite the {{metaDescription}} helper and others so that it renders without the trailing slash, as trailing slash on void elements has no effect and interacts badly with unquoted attribute values.
Maybe there is a way to overwrite the helper?

Are you talking about metadescriptions or URLs?

This is a metadescription:

It could also be referring to trailing slashes on void elements?

In any case, could you share exactly what the W3C report said?

Hmmm, I'm not sure why that is... I'm not sure which theme you're using, but I don't see trailing slashes on void meta description elements on any of my sites, so this may not be a Publii issue:

I've even used the same W3 tester, and didn't get any of those errors.

Are you sure that trailing slashes appear when you Inspect your live pages? Are you using a custom theme?

Thank you very much for your feedback and time! The site I checked and provided a link to its verification uses the Simple 3.1.1.0 theme. A small translation was made and some CSS was added. These changes cannot significantly affect the logic of Publii's work. When you view the code in the inspector, then this is normal, but when you view the code directly in the browser, you will see this picture.
In "View Page Source" you see the original HTML code.

Browsers interpret HTML as a tree of elements (DOM) and automatically normalize it. Therefore, in the Element Inspector (Elements in DevTools), the browser displays already processed HTML, where all tags are presented in a standard way.

There is such a variable in the Publii helpers - app/back-end/modules/render-html/handlebars/helpers/meta-description.js

Temporarily, you can use this construction in head.hbs:

{{#if metaDescriptionRaw}}
<meta name="description" content="{{metaDescriptionRaw}}">
{{/if}}

Which uses meta description in raw form. But this is not an option, because the raw form does not exist for all template-specific tags.
Unfortunately, my experiments with helpers.js did not lead to positive results. Most likely, Publii does not allow you to directly modify the basic built-in helpers.
The problem can be considered non-critical, although it is worth paying attention to the developers. If you enable HTML compression in the site settings, the problem disappears.
