integrate Vision Zero traffic mitigation data #93

From http://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/about/vz_datafeeds.shtml harvest the following items into some CARTO tables:

  • Enhanced Crossings - point, buffer to 90-foot circle
  • Leading Pedestrian Interval - point, buffer to 90-foot circle
  • Left Turn Traffic Calming - point, buffer to 90-foot circle
  • Neighborhood Slow Zones - polygon
  • Speed Humps - line
  • Street Improvement Projects (Intersections) - point, buffer to 90-foot circle
  • Street Improvement Projects (Corridors) - line
  • 25mph Signal Timing - line

On the Map, create a new “Interventions” section.

  • Has these 8 layers, and checkboxes and legend swatches. Toggling them toggles that layer.
  • Cartography
    • Enhanced Crossings
    • Leading Pedestrian Interval
    • Left Turn Traffic Calming
    • Neighborhood Slow Zones
    • Speed Humps
    • Street Improvement Projects (Intersections)
    • Street Improvement Projects (Corridors)
    • 25mph Signal Timing
  • Click-query to show info. Then Confirm fields + formatting + style.
    • Enhanced Crossings
    • Leading Pedestrian Interval
    • Left Turn Traffic Calming
    • Neighborhood Slow Zones
    • Speed Humps
    • Street Improvement Projects (Intersections)
    • Street Improvement Projects (Corridors)
    • 25mph Signal Timing
