Due to high activity in this repository and little available time from my side, the pile-up of pull requests and unanswered issues is going to increase further. Sorry, but I currently don't have enough time for everyone.

Changes since 2.0-alpha1:

• allow customizing functional key layouts
• slightly adjust symbols and more symbols layouts
• add options to auto-show/hide toolbar, by @codokie (auto toggle toolbar when suggestions are available #674)
• add toast notification when copying text, by @codokie (toast notifications #752)
• separate language switch key behavior from enablement
• add comma key popups for number and phone layouts (Add a shortcut for clipboard paste to the numpad #823)
• make long-press pinning in toolbar optional
• move toolbar settings to a separate section
• add tab key
• understand ctrl/alt/fn/meta key labels in layouts
• understand toolbar key labels in layouts
• add primary quotation marks for Norwegian bokmål, by @knutid
  (Add primary quotation marks for 'Norwegian bokmål'. Fixes #805 #806, The primary quotation marks for 'Norwegian bokmål' is missing in the corresponding language/layout. #805)
• update Hebrew layout, by @codokie / @russianspy1234 ([Feature Request] Hebrew Diacritics #735, Update hebrew.json #738)
• minor fixes and improvements

Actually you're very right: my request is way too generic. Also, I'm not confident enough with anything looking like code.

I'll try to make a list of specific things I'd like to achieve. Maybe it's niche stuff nobody's interested in, like having a comma function button with only two long press functions only (app settings and emoji).

I'll come back with more detailed questions 🥹

And second question. Will this version be on F-Droid/IzzyOnDroid? The beta of version 1.3 was and I'm curious if this one will go there too.

F-Droid gets only release versions. Alpha/Beta releases need to be added manually, for each release separately. I'm not going to do that, but if someone else wants to, I won't object.

I guess it will not be on IzzyOnDroid, didn't check policy regarding pre-release versions there.

I get pre releases automatically through Obtainium, it's super convenient and it takes APKs directly from the source (this GitHub repository) 🤩

Function key editing is super intuitive, had everything dialed in how I wanted it within a couple minutes.

Very nice to have a dedicated tab key for certain situations too (mainly when I have to ssh into a machine from my phone for whatever reason...which happens too often).

May you suggest how to add long-press options (just Settings and Emoji) on the ₁₂₃₄ key on the bottom left, plus some popup characters on the _ key (just at the right of the previous button)?

I don't quite have the time right now, but definitely check out the documentation for some great insight on what is/isn't possible.

I'm fairly confident you can accomplish this with some keyLabelFlags, but don't take my word for it. I'm just a girl on the internet, I haven't looked too deeply into what calls the "special" popup actions (emoji, settings, etc).

Thanks 😌 I too I'm just a guy on the internet and I have no coding skills, that's why that documentation looked a bit complicated to me. But with the help of ChatGPT and Gemini I almost accomplished all my customization goals ✌😎✌

I can't 100% guarantee, but I think it's not possible to have long-press keys on layout switch keys (numpad (1234), shift, ABC, ?123). Possibly this is because the layout is switched immediately, so you are long-pressing a different key.
You can open an issue about this, but it might be a long time until I have a proper look at it.

Popups for _ should work normally with something like "label": "_", "popup": { "relevant": [{ "label": "x" }, { "label": "y" }]}
