Description

Expected Behavior

If you type in a join code incorrectly and try and join a lobby that does not exist you should get an error/message.

Actual Behavior'

You get brought to the "Connecting to Lobby" screen with the loading icon. This is misleading because the player won't realize they are trying to join a lobby that does not exist

This is the screen you see when you type in an incorrect join code

Replication Steps & Data

  1. go to cardsofcarousal.com on a desktop and Host
  2. go to cardsofcarousal.com from another tab/window or mobile device
  3. type in the join code incorrectly
  4. observe the loading screen

User Story

As a player I would like to be notified that I have tried to join a game that does not exist/used an incorrect code, so that I don't sit around waiting to join the lobby forever/think the game is broken.

Acceptance Criteria

  • the player is notified that they have typed in an invalid room code and are not shown the "connecting to lobby" loading screen
