Allows mages to attune to various locations that they can then teleport to, open portals to or even craft portal books to.

Initially only including the pre-existing portal locations. More will come hand in hand with new zones in the exploration rework in the world realisation project, where the plan is to release at least one new zone each update but starting with the three cities and trolls haven.

Red portals are also added for evil characters, possible to set via GM tool.

Cast time of books to be scaled based on quality of the books.

Cast time of mages to be static as learning is based on time spent casting.

Duration of portals scaled by intelligence, willpower, gems, wand quality and equipment.

Quality of portal books scaled by intelligence, gems, wand quality.

Cost of casting spells scaled by essence, gems, wand quality and equipment.

Things to do based on feedback during testing:

  • Make the inspection of portal books more detailed in what quality impacts
  • Fix it so portals can not be spawned on objects
  • Hide portal book creator tag
  • Change portal books name to a more generic "book" like the NPC sold ones
  • Allow custom labels for portal books, similar to potions, using a quill
  • Show the destination when inspecting a portal book via wand
  • Correct the material cost for ink
  • Make it so quills do not stack
  • Look into borrowing the code from enchanting rituals to make the casting animation more varied
  • Make attuning to a portal location carry more oomph, with a cast time, graphical effects, sound effects and a magic incantation!
  • Implement changes to availability of portal books from NPC salesmen based on what conclusion (yet to be reached) is reached in discussion with team, if the conclusion is to make such changes
