No Meta Data and files in m4a format

TIDAL HIFI 5.20.1 on Linux Mint 22.1

Installed SongDownloader form the Plugin Library, set it to download HiRes and it downloads the songs but files are in .m4a format and no metadata is included.

Is there any way to fix this?.

For some reason Linux always gets files in m4a container which doesn't support tagging.

I'm not sure why this happens on hifi. You could try renaming them to flac to see if they are actually flac files. But itl be something to do with Tidal hifi.

For now the only fix is to use Windows or OS

It was too good to be true :), a really comfortable way to get flac files.

I checked them and they seem to be flac files:

Maybe there is an automated way to input metadata in the files, I will have a look.

Sounds like detecting the extension is bad in tidal hifi. I can probably override it. Idk why it'd giving the wrong manifest type

Just adding that Luna does support tagging flac files. But because the extension is being reported as m4a on Linux its skipped.

So I probably need to add some way to force it, since tidal-hifi is clearly feeding bad Metadata

If you manage to solve it, it would be great. Im using MusicBrainz pricard meanwhile. Trying to stay away from Windows as much as possible.

I am still getting m4a files without metadata. Tested with 1.6.14 beta.
