Describe the bug
Many times I have the notification icon (counter) without actually have anything new in the app. It happens after real notifications which are not cleaned after I read the message. I have to restart the app to remove these notifications.

To Reproduce
I am not sure, but it happens almost daily, some notifications just not cleaned up.

Expected behavior
Ideally I wouldn't have any ghost notification, but I would be already happy if the scroll down menu would offer a restart option ("refresh" does not help).

Screenshots
If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Ubuntu 24.04
  • Installation package: snap
  • Version: 1.11.2 (but it's not new issue, I had it with many of the previous versions too)

Additional context
Can we just have a restart button?

Hi @atommaki ,

Thanks for reporting.

Is this for the icon notifications? If Icon notification would you be able to try another window manager?

It could also be one of those strange snap issues, can you try with another package?

Let us know how you get on.

I use Gnome (as many others I guess), so then may be the snap is the issue here... I try the deb package now then and I will see if there is a difference.

No luck, the deb installation behaves the same. I may try a different WM later.

Try otherwise the --notificationMethod=web and see if that works for you. That will remove the web notifications and use the web ones instead.
