Problem: import correct .gbk file, export genbank produces incorrect genbank file, that can't be processed by biopython.
Versions: reproduced with ICE 5.1.0 and 5.2.2
Detailed problems (All in LOCUS line):
--The part/plasmid part name is used in the LOCUS name, but that name can include spaces.
--The modification date is missing.
Incorrect line:
"LOCUS conn Bla-B 114 bp DNA linear"
Correct line:
"LOCUS conn_Bla-B 114 bp DNA linear SYN 29-MAR-2017"
Also, if you input a .gbk file that has "ds-DNA", the output is simply " DNA", so information is lost.
Note: github messes with the spaces, so I have included an attached file. genbank snippets.txt
