Several problems this morning:

  • French is gone from the dropdown menus.
  • French had been my chosen beginner language but that was changed to English.
  • When I typed the title of a new post in French it translated it to English
  • When I tried to type body text for a new post, the editor would start backing up my cursor, changing the order of letters I had typed, and erasing some letters.

Hi @jesslark, thanks so much for reporting this! That seems like very odd behavior. Could you help me out by providing a screen recording of this behavior, along with what computer you're using, the Operating System and which browser you're using?

Also, is this something that just suddenly started happening?

For example:

  • Mac
  • macOS Sonoma Version 14.1.2
  • Chrome 119.0.6045.199

If a screen recording isn't feasible, could you outline the exact steps to reproduce this issue so that I can try my best to get this solved as quickly as I can?

Thanks so much again!

Just as an update from my side, I just tried things out based on your description with my current laptop and everything appears to be functioning totally fine, so that's why the extra info will help me see if I can reproduce. It sounds most likely that you might be using an Android device, but last time we checked all issues were resolved for Androids. So it's also possible that perhaps there's something else happening. Thanks again, Jess!

Hi Robin, thanks for the quick response! I

I am using:

  • Mac laptop: Ventura 13.4.1, 2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7
  • Chrome: Version 119.0.6045.159 (Official Build) (x86_64)

It was working fine on December 9. I saw the problems this morning. Between than and now I installed an extension to get coupons from Capital One, but nothing else, and it seems ok now.

After I got your email I checked in a private browser window and everything acted fine. When I checked Chrome, it had me update. Post update, Journaly is acting fine. My previous language settings are back and I am able to create a post and publish.

If this happens again, I will verify through the private browser before posting an issue.

Hi @jesslark ! Thanks so much for providing the video recording! Hmm very strange, I'll definitely take a look and see if I am able to reproduce the issue with your recording. I haven't seen any cases of this so far but we'll try to get to the bottom of it! I'm glad that you at least have a work-around for now by restarting the browser, I'm sorry about the inconvenience until we get this figured out!
