Shibboleth-auth not working on v4.1.0 #1004

Describe the bug**
migrated from 3.0.3 to 4.1.0
migrated config files including plugins/Authentication/Shibboleth.config.php, as well as .htaccess (which includes necessary Shibboleth-info)
redirection to SSO-server works fine. After entering credentials I am sent back to my LibreBooking platform with the message "We could not match your username or password"
tested with multiple users.
logging is turned on to DEBUG, but no log is created.
To Reproduce**
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- set LibreBooking with Shibboleth auth
- log in

login works

Specifications
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 9.7 (Plow)
- LibreBooking version 4.1.0
- php 8.2.30
- MariaDB 11.4.9
