Lone Echo VERY dark in Pimax Crystal #1832
Comments
I've seen the exact same issue with Stormland as well. Not sure what's causing it but it's way darker in the headset than it is on the screen. |
I found that the solution to this is to go in to the Pimax Play app, go to Assets, find the name that it has for Lone Echo or Stormland, then go to the Pimax Crystal settings -> Device Settings -> Games, select that game from the dropdown, scroll to the bottom, increase the brightness for left and right to 4 for both, then click the Apply button. After that when you start the game the brightness levels will be right and it will be playable. Just launch the games directly from the My Assets section in Pimax Play, don't bother with the Revive menu in SteamVR. |
Nice one :) I haven't needed to touch the colour, contrast, brightness, etc since moving from the 8kx to Crystal, but it's always been a good thing their software lets you easily tweak should you want/need. |
Lone Echo uses a linear color space rather than a gamma color space. I'm guessing Pimax didn't implement support for linear color spaces. |
We still need to use Revive for many games with a Pimax, which is fine, except Lone Echo which is so dark as to be unplayable. I have seen there were issues in the past with gamma or whatever and Revive, so posting here in case anything can be done. Thanks.
