"Lakes For VP" mapscript generates too much strategic resource #11307
Comments
The map doesn't handle resource placement at all. Impossible that it's the cause. Do you have other mods that modify AssignStartingPlots.lua? |
Not that I know of, unlikely You could probably verify it yourself if you load a map generated by Lakes For VP script and have a look at the amount of strategics. I've tested it with 3 rolls, I didn't play past Iron and Horses, but the amount of those two strategics was immediately noticeable to be much higher than in any Communitu script I've been playing for years. The easiest thing to notice will be the huge "piles" of resources of 6-7. I can't remember ever seeing deposits of this size in Communitu. |
Lakes is a map without oceans, so there's just naturally more land for strategics. Edited: Actually no, the map is also set two sizes smaller because of that. And large deposits like that are still impossible. |
For years I've almost exclusively played Communitas/Communitu mapscripts. Recently I tried Lakes For VP script and noticed that the amount of strategics is noticeably much more. Even the "Sparse" resource setting doesn't solve the issue; almost all of the civs have Iron and Horses in abundance in the Classic Era. The script seems to produce too many "rich" strategic deposits of 6 or 7 which can be the main reason.
