We should make the main view scrollable, similar to Loop. That will allow us to support additional graphs and the current override on the home view, like Loop. We will need to make sure graphs still have a decent default size for various device types. We may want to consider moving the Timeline graph to the top, to avoid it being clipped.

Piggybacking on this request…

As a parent of a newly looping child and a noob looper, I expected the loop caregiver app to be very much analogous to the loop app on my 9 year old son’s phone. I expected it to look and operate in very much the same way.

Wherever they diverged, I was confused. Here is what confused me, ranked from most to least:

  1. Loop has a dark interface and caregiver has a light interface. I suggest that they should have the same interface. It gave me the impression that my caregiver app was somehow wrongly configured and this was reinforced by the fact that the interfaces did not behave the same way. As a UI placeholder fix, I suggest adding something to the caregiver app - specifically directed to new users like me whenever you tap or swipe or scroll a screen in caregiver in a state where this is unallowed. Perhaps:
    //
    Hi there, loop caregiver! FYI caregiver does not yet have all of the functionality of the loop app but we’re working on it. If you want to speed up development, please paypal your contribution to [email protected] and tell us what you want us to fix in the subject line.
    [ ] do not show again
    //

  2. Loop allows you to tap on the screen and see recently entered carbs, boluses, insulin. TBH my son doesnt need all of this detail on his loop app but I definitely need it on my caregiver app! I feel like the caregiver app has been designed to provide a subset of the Loop app’s functionality and information. For my use case, I would actually like the EXACT opposite.

  3. Onboarding QR code worked great for me, but there was a major moment of confusion where I was super stuck and didnt know what to do on the loopers phone to get it to show the QR code. So I’d request more seamless instructions between the two.

@makaper

  1. The Caregiver interface should be dark when the phone is in dark mode and light when in light mode. Loop seems to operate the same.

  2. Caregiver is a subset of Loop's functionality due to limited volunteer developers to align them. I'd love to see more developers and engineers contribute to improving it though.

  3. That can certainly be improved and thanks for the feedback.
