Cannot list minions & very limited functionality

I've successfully installed SaltPad but it has very limited functionality (cannot even list Minions).

Is this "normal"?

I cannot see a list of minions either

@Razva @martinlevington does that change for you ( it does for me ) when you run something like salt '*' test.ping on the cmd line?
for some reason it only seems to pick up my minions at that point? Is that same for you guys?
