I discovered by placing a keypad as a test to see what it looks like that there seemed to be no way to remove it from the world again. When broken with any tool or an empty hand, it just appears again.
It took me an embarrassing amount of time to arrive at the idea of washing it away with water (in the process washing away some of the redstone in my industrial area build, that's on me).
Perhaps some sort of text in the mod description page saying that keypads can only be broken by washing them away, so they should be carefully placed to start with? I know this is an entirely volunteer project (and a great one at that), so all I'm suggesting is a small update to the mod description instead of addition of some other way to remove a placed keypad.
