Discord link can be available through link sharing (for instance on bicshub.uni.lu), it would be suitable to restrict the access to internal public (aka students).
Describe the solution you'd like
Programming Discord bot with sole purpose is to ask and check every new member with the Student ID being sent after admission to the university.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Leave the access public: utility for prospective students, erasmus, etc. and enquire admins based on controversial activity.

Students will be required to give us their student ID alongside their name when they use the /intro command. They will be assigned their appropriate year after checking their student ID with our database. If they do not have their student ID yet, they will be given the Incoming role.
To get a student role after being given the Incoming role, they will use the /intro command again, and enter their student ID.
Maybe after having the incoming role, instead of them using the /intro command, we could simply bump the role automatically if they are already in our database.
