Useful when you want to quickly save the whole plot. Maybe /plot save name.schematic?

Sounds scary, would be a big file

It would be a big file to load, however schematics are very light-weight. A normal-sized plot filled to the brim with big redstone contraptions would probably not exceed 5MB. (And for most uses, I doubt the plot would exceed 1MB, as some of my big projects barely scratch 1.5MB)

It's not as convenient as a single command, but you can use /p sel to select the entire plot, and then //save normally
