Hi,
I have a question. We draw ET (missing energy transverse (E/T ) for Z boson (Z->vv; v is neutrino) in the final state) versus event number graph of the signal and backgrounds including new physics beyond the Standard Model for the process ee->eeZG (G is the photon) . As we expected, the event of number of the signal that include new physics is larger than the backgrounds. There is a problem when plotting the backgrounds in this graph. One of the two backgrounds, for example, A, has a larger cross-section, while the other background, B, has a smaller cross-section. But the number of events for B is larger than A in the ET versus event number graph of the signal and backgrounds . What exactly is the reason for this?
