When selecting in an image recolored based on a HSNE embedding, the selection seems to be mapped to the embedding and then back to the image.
When selecting in an image, the selection is mapped to the embedding but not back.
In the second screenshot you can see that I made an rectangular selection, the same as in the first screenshot, but pixel outside the rectangle are selected.
I would have expected the selection to behave the same in both cases: Only those landmarks in the embedding will be selected that are data points in the current image selection. Not sure if this is a bug or a feature? Also not sure if this is not rather a core-issue...
Left: Recolored image based on HSNE embedding, Right HSNE top level embedding.
