I've made these macos automator 'quick action' apple scripts, so renaming can be done when right-clicking folders like this:

I can't be bothered to update the python code so it works like it have been implemented for windows. But I thought it might be useful for other people.

Sorry that it took me so long to answer this message - that looks great! If you ever feel like doing a pull request to add this code (or maybe simply writing a section of the readme file?) that would be very welcomed.
