Description of issue

With the Log Analytics Workspace agent being retired on Aug 31st the steps in this exercise no longer work as written.
With the cloud slice environment the ALH has to use there is no availability to deploy the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
This exercise needs to be rewritten and the lab environment updated to allow the deployment of the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.

+1 this entire module is embarrasingly out of date. not just the lab but the content too.

Thanks for the feedback. Lab 2 is being deprecated due to security issues as well as issues arising from the retiral of the Log Analytics agent and Azure Automation Update Management. A readme was posted on GitHub a while back, advising instructors not to run lab 2 or lab 9 because of the impacts due to the retirals. It's possible that people may not have been aware of it

The plan is to provide updated labs likely in the mid-January timeframe that account for the changes. We will keep you posted and apologize sincerely for the inconvenience.
