How to create the croped formula images?

I have downloaded the formula_images.tar.gz file, but the images are full A4 pages, how can i get the croped formula images?

Heya. I reckon classic image manipulation libraries might have good utilities for these. One potential manual would be to check the last x and y pixel that has non-transparent value, and crop to those xy values (not tested, but I reckon it should work fine).
