Thanks again for your icons, they look really nice inside of OpenKeychain. See https://cloud.dominikschuermann.de/public.php?service=files&t=24d471b436c9d0880f845e6a9ce39414

I showed it 4 people today and all of them said that they look very good. However all of them didn't get the expired icon. They didn't recognized it as a alarm clock :/
Maybe it was just bad luck, but maybe we should do a small user study about the icon set.

What about using a clock like icon, like github's emoji: 🕒 ?

Thinking more about this:
I actually like the idea of having a alarm clock icon for expired keys, maybe it would be more recognizable if the current icon would have transparent pointers like a clock instead of the transparent circle.

@dschuermann yah, a clock felt wrong to me as it just implied time. I like your note about "hands on the alarm" so I'll work towards implementing that in an update soon. Great suggestion!

I'll provide suggested HEX color values too just in case you or others want to go that far with color synchronization!

The icons look great in your design :)

Thanks for considering the suggestion, I know it's difficult to discuss about design ;)
I will try to ask more people about the icon without giving them context about it. It should definitely be recognizable as an alarm clock without explaining the use case.

I will soon post more screenshots to show the icons being part in other activities, I will use them throughout the whole application (maybe it is interesting for you).

Regarding colors:
Haven't made a final decision. Currently, we use the default colors from http://developer.android.com/design/style/color.html
