VS Code plugin not responsive

What issue are you seeing?

I'm using this plugin: moonshot-ai.kimi-code / https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=moonshot-ai.kimi-code

However, the chat isn't responsive to any inquiry or input. It gets stuck on Processing. I've tried re-installing the plugin, logging in and out, and resetting kimi

Note:

• The Kimi code app works fine (Kingleo.kimi-vscode) as well as third party providers that integrate Kimi into Copilot (DenizhanDaklr.kimi-lm-provider)

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. Install plugin on VS code
2. Input any message

What is the expected behavior?

Kimi responds with something

Further information after some debugging:

Kimi CLI is starting normally and responding to initialize / TurnBegin (CLI logs show many successful spawns).
Two VS Code–side issues appear in your logs and likely explain the failure to get useful responses:
Repeated 401 provider errors in the extension logs: Example: "Error code: 401 - {'error': {'message': 'The API Key appears to be invalid or may have expired...'}}" — the agent backend is failing auth.
safeStorage.decryptString errors in main.log (macOS keychain decryption failures) and multiple "Extension host ... exited" entries — indicates VS Code secrets/keychain problems or extension-host instability that can interrupt the agent flow.
Other logs like "Waiting for user authorization... authorization_pending" show OAuth/authorization flows pending (not a binary crash).

However, I authenticated via login. When I try and try the verification url (shown in the logs) I get the following message: [unauthenticated] invalid device authorization code.

I don't understand how to reauthenticate. I've tried uninstalling all of the apps, restarting vs code, reinstalling, and relogging in but nothing is working. (Signing out of Kimi Code and logging in via the authorize_device url shows that I can log in successfully, however messages still dont send)
