First, why is the upper limit on precipitation set so high? Isn't 1 mm/s unrealistic?
Second, why can incident longwave radiation be negative? Isn't that just the downward radiation?

Hi, I have a few questions about the forcing attributes file here: https://github.com/NASA-LIS/LISF/blob/master/lis/configs/557WW-7.3-FOC/attribs/forcing_attribs.txt (These might be silly questions, sorry!)
First, why is the upper limit on precipitation set so high? Isn't 1 mm/s unrealistic?
Second, why can incident longwave radiation be negative? Isn't that just the downward radiation?
Thanks!
Claire
