Android Notification Configuration

Add the following to your android/app/src/main/AndroidManifest.xml:

Permissions

Add these permissions inside the <manifest> tag:

<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.USE_EXACT_ALARM"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED"/>

Receivers

Add these receivers inside the <application> tag:

<receiver android:exported="false" android:name="com.dexterous.flutterlocalnotifications.ScheduledNotificationReceiver" />

<receiver android:exported="false" android:name="com.dexterous.flutterlocalnotifications.ScheduledNotificationBootReceiver">
    <intent-filter>
        <action android:name="android.intent.action.BOOT_COMPLETED"/>
        <action android:name="android.intent.action.MY_PACKAGE_REPLACED"/>
        <action android:name="android.intent.action.QUICKBOOT_POWERON" />
        <action android:name="com.htc.intent.action.QUICKBOOT_POWERON"/>
    </intent-filter>
</receiver>

Complete Example

Your AndroidManifest.xml should look like this:

Notes

  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS - Required for Android 13+ to show notifications
  • SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM - Required for exact alarm scheduling
  • USE_EXACT_ALARM - Alternative permission for exact alarms
  • RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - Allows notifications to persist after device reboot
  • ScheduledNotificationReceiver - Handles scheduled notifications
  • ScheduledNotificationBootReceiver - Reschedules notifications after reboot
