Nightscout on Google Cloud cost! #2595

Google Cloud unexpected cost I have put together a table showing the cost for my Nightscout per month for the past 4 months. Even though the first three months I had free trial credit, it is easy to see what the charges would have been even then using the cost table (https://navid200.github.io/xDrip/docs/Nightscout/CostTable.html). The table shows traffic for my Nightscout for each month to China and Australia and the cost associated with each for each month. We are also aware of a bug in Nightscout that results in extra traffic. The solution is already in the development branch of Nightscout. If you have an unexpected invoice, please use the cost table, link above, to see what the cause is. |

Nightscout on Google Cloud can be free if the traffic out of your server is less than 1GB per month.
When you signed up, you were given a $300 credit as a 3-month free trial. The idea behind the free credit was so that you could see what the cost would be without really having to pay for it. You could see the cost looking at billing.
If you never paid attention to billing, you may now get a real invoice that you will have to pay for.
For those of you who started early September, right after the Heroku announcement, the 3-month free trial ends now or in a few days.
Please log into your Google Account and view billing. Please see what the cost has been for each month previously.
If your cost is high, please tell us.
You can use the cost table as explained here to see what the cost is for.
There is a bug in Nightscout 14.2.6 that has been fixed in the dev branch a few hours ago (nightscout/cgm-remote-monitor#7793).
We are working on an option for you to get that fix without having to use the dev branch and will share in the guide shortly.
