Ugly transition: Screen goes black for short period before loading i3

I use the same background in Aether and for my i3 background. After login, the screen is black for a short second before loading i3 and displaying the background back again.

Desired

I would like the background to remain for a nicer transition. I don't want that my screen goes black between Aether and i3.

Describe alternatives you've considered

• There was a similar request on another theme called Litarvan. They were able to fix it: Disable fade to black Litarvan/lightdm-webkit-theme-litarvan#9

Additional context

• I have set Aether's background image to the same images as my user's desktop.
• The user's background is located in a public directory
• I used feh to set the user background.
