I noticed in the logbook it stores a history of your past run history that more or less mirrors the end of game report, abit in a differently layout. That gave me the idea that while not necessary, it would be interesting to have the death cause information saved there, if such a feat is even possible.

This is a very interesting suggestion! I am currently prepping for the release of 3.0.0, but this is definitely something to think about for the next major release. I'll sit on this until I'm done going through updating my mods (and potentially releasing some other things I've been working on), but I will let you know when I decide to look into this and potentially work on it.
All good, it was just a random idea I had when I've been spending time testing to see which mods do and don't work with the new update.
I noticed that the past runs are just stored in plain text XML files in the installation directory so writing the information is easy, nor likely would displaying the information as it would hopefully be similar to the existing work you have already done. A potential problem I can think of however is that as the mod would incur a permanent file change, that it doesn't cause an issue should you try viewing the past run details in-game without the mod installed.
