A little direction please..

I am a total novice here, so go easy on me! I am trying to create an application that extracts medical data from disparate sets of medical notes: that is, the medical records all pertain to patient X but are from multiple sources, doctors, clinics etc. The records include clinical treatment notes, lab results, and diagnostic test results such as X-Rays and MRIs. These records are NOT electronic - they are in the form of a pdf file. The key word regarding these medical records in "disparate". Different clinicians, different EHR systems, etc.

Is this CommonDataModel designed to address this problem?

Yes, the OMOP CDM standardizes the format and harmonizes the codes. See more information in the Book of OHDSI.
